Come Take My Hand by Eric James of The Early Hours (Falling Elevators EP)

Most people like music. A large portion of those people love great music. But nearly everybody loves free, great music. Today's Stootsi is a combination of both. Brought to you today by Eric James, frontrunner of The Early Hours, whose agreed to whore out a free copy of his hit title track Come Take My Hand from the band's new EP Falling Elevators. Stootsi disclaimer: Eric James is a close friend of the Stootsi.com family, but we'd tell him straight up if we thought his music sucked. And it doesn't suck. In fact, it's pretty damn sweet. So while you are leeching free music from Stootsi, scroll down and take a few minutes to read about this amazing musician. When Eric James becomes super famous, you can be that guy who claims he liked that band first - we all know those people. Finally, if you like this track, do the music world a favor and buy the 5 song EP today - we're running a crazy 24 hour special on that for 99 cents. You'll be supporting Eric James, the Indie music scene, and great music. Pat yourself on the back!

Eric James - The Early Hours

The best way to describe Eric James (and his music) is simply cool. Producing great sounds for 15 years doesn't hurt either. While constantly flirting with breakout success seems to be a niche for Eric, he's finally found that musical groove all musicians strive for with his newest project, The Early Hours (Falling Elevators EP). Band members Tiago Veiga and Rob Hellyer join Eric James on this hip Indie EP. Come Take My Hand (free for download for 24 hours) has already found a large audience on various TV outlets including The Real World, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Charm School, Bad Girls Club, Road Rules Challenge, and others. Great press doesn't hurt either:

  • “Hazy, danceable indie pop, perfect for the wee small hours of the morning when reality and memory start to blur together.” - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
  • “The perfect soundtrack to get you in the mood for [summer]” - Relevant
  • "Indie-pop sort of sound reminiscent of the 60's - check out "Come Take My Hand" - AbsolutePunk.net

Since I don't personally like to compare musicians to one another, I'll resist the urge . Simply stated, Eric's sounds are easy to listen and extremely enjoyable. Simple sounds, but not childish. All the tracks are light, but not dull. Perhaps I'm describing my favorite appetizer - maybe that's a great description. Kinda like going to a restaurant and wanting to try a little bit of everything. You walk away very pleased, but not feeling completely fat or grossed out. So I'll settle with calling Falling Elevators the Miller Lite of music - tastes great, always there to provide a lift, and never lets you down. It can also be enjoyed at any moment of the day. Gosh I need a beer. I guess this is what you get when a non-musician tries to give a musical review. Hopefully I'll improve on this.

Music.stootsi.com is proud to have Eric James and The Early Hours as their first featured artist. We wholeheartedly support his musical swag. Enjoy the fresh freebie Come Take My Hand today. All we need is a stupid zip code. Again, if you like the music, consider other songs or grab the entire EP in mp3 format for $2.99.

Boy howdy, that's some 80s-level reverb on the vocal... feels like listening to Daniel Ash. :) But a solid, catchy song and nice guitar work!

This is definitely the new "Game" Stootsi. They're going to have the same music offering for a few months and then remove the tab and forget it ever existed. This almost makes me long for the return of the game of "Wood."
